As with battery life, the storage capacity of your camera can greatly affect the number of pictures you are able to take at a time. The recommended storage capacity for the average digital camera owner is between 32MB and 128MB.

Now that you have some ideas about what to look for in a digital camera, head out to the store or the Internet to find the perfect camera for you and your family. Many websites will actually allow you to compare different cameras and their features.

Rascal Flatts, the current reigning Kings of Country have released their fourth CD entitled Me and My Gang.

Rascal fans will find that the band is indeed maturing and to my ear musically this is their best release to date. Consisting of mostly slower tempo songs, all of which have a moral message to them Rascal Flatts has clearly found their audience on the female side of the ledger.

That said the CD launches with a great track, Stand, and rolls very smoothly right through the full 13 tracks in the collection.

I especially enjoyed their treatment of track 3, Backwards. It’s like a musical comedy. Very funny!

Overall I found Me and My Gang a real pleasure to listen to. I like it’s smoothness a lot and it certainly does not lack at all in production value. I give it two thumbs up.

The standout tunes on Me and My Gang are Backwards [track 3], Yes I Do [track 7], and Cool Thing [track 11]. My SmoothLee Bonus Pick, and the one that got Sore […as in “Stuck On REpeat”] is track 2, What Hurts The Most. Very nice!

One doesn’t have to be fully down in the dumps to enjoy a nice helping of the low down dirty blues. The blues of Muddy Waters, Robert Johnson, and even Chuck Berry can take a feeling and put it to the swaying rhythm of the music. There are many forms of the blues genre. There is the Chicago, the Mississippi Delta, Beale Street, and the Hillbilly style of blues. No music can be as sweet as the sound of a gritty guitar rift with an accord of drums and bass.

The lyrics has to tell of the heartache and troubles that one faces from day to day living. If a person is to be a true human, they are to experience the sorrows and woes of life. It has never been captured as well, as in a well drafted blues song.

I’ve been to Beale Street in Memphis, and that’s where I fell in love with the sound. I’ve always been a fan, even as a small boy, but the blues is not a child’s music. The blues is sung by adults for adults. The blues is the greatest sound to a rebel, a prophet, or the depressed. It is meant for the rich, as well as the poor.

Everyone gets down and it is good to relate to the music of one’s life. For some it is the blues, and to some it is the opera. Music is a medicine for the soul.

Most of the guitar lovers playing guitar for few years but still unsatisfied with their progress. They feel like still stand at the starting point and can’t enjoy their playing. This mainly caused by most of them don’t build up a strong foundation at the begining. I found that some of the guitar learners even just playing guitar for one to two years but are more better than so many that playing for over five years. This is the foundation problems. Me myself was an example when I started playing guitar long time ago.

The secrets of learning guitar are mostly base on the foundation.To have a good foundation for future success,we need three important factors :-

1.Listening:

Ear training is a MUST basic training that every guitar learner should have. But most of them avoid this as quite a boring and time-consuming job. Without a good listening, we are unable to move to higher level.
To overcome this problems, I suggest that guitar learners may choose one of the well known Ear Training software on internet. I found that there are few really good software that will improve your listening step by step and really FUN. You feel like playing game when you learn.

2.Daily practice: (Both fingers and ears)

Daily practice is another important thing we should do.(Ex.fingers exercises, practice for the basic scales)
I suggest that beginners practice PENTATONIC SCALES at the starting point because this scales are the most simple scales that only have 5 tones. Try to practice 20 to 30 minutes daily. Remember that even just 20 minutes of RELAX and CONCERNTRATION DAILY practice is more effective than few hours of unconstant practice.

3.Look for a teacher:

You may find either private guitar teacher or guitar lessons on internet. For my opinions,learn guitar from internet maybe better because of the convinience of time and cheaper. There is just one question of learning from internet that what lessons to choose, what lessons are really work.
Myself as a guitar lover have been playing guitar for 15 years.

Music has a far reaching and significant influence on human potential then what many people realize.

Today, scientists and neuromusicologist in many countries are conducting research on how music affects human development, our behavior, thinking, learning abilities and well being.

Dr Gordon Shaw and Dr Frances Rauscher, scientists at the University of California at Irvie and many others within the brain research community have shown that music has an extensive education and brain development value. Listening to classical music can increase memory and concentration, and studying a music instrument has shown to increase spatial reasoning.

When music form part of your home environment, it creates a positive and conducive atmosphere for learning and aids in the acquisition of early language. It was found that when music is taught comprehensively and sequentially in schools, it increases the children performance in math, science, reading, history and SAT score. In some cases, it also help children with learning disability to become more confidence and make their learning process much easier.

A person who study music and learn to play musical instrument tend to be more creative in their thinking, stronger in imagination, communication and team work skills. Incidentally, these are important attributes for a successful life, especially in the highly competitive twenty-first century.

Much as we sometimes fear change, some inexplicable part of the human psyche loves unpredictability. Even those among us who crave order in our homes and office spaces sometimes love to throw caution to the wind and lose our organized selves in a whirlwind of spontaneity. While many of us feel that things should have their place, and be in that same place when we go to look for it as we’re running out the door, still we long for the odd surprise to make life just a little more interesting. Perhaps, then, it’s little wonder that our favorite iPod tool is the shuffle key.

In the days of the record and tape cassette, our only listening option was a chronological one. And because even our very favorite album usually has a song or two that doesn’t quite hit the spot, we always ended up listening to it anyway, skipping the needle over (quite often making horrible scratches in the process that invariably cut through the songs we did like), or pushing blindly on fast forward to get to the tune’s other side.

But with the advent of CDs, our options expanded, offering us for the first time a perhaps more playful way of listening. And while CDs undoubtedly offered us greater listening flexibility over their predecessors, portable music had not yet reached its zenith. Now we have the iPod, and the user friendly listening of the CD has been combined with a storage system that allows us carry with us almost as much music as we could ever want.

But with that enormous choice available to us on a daily basis, it can be difficult to know where to begin your listening pleasure. Of course there are always days when you have a hankering for a particular song, but when the music stored comprises all your own personal favorites, how do you choose? Perhaps that’s why the iPod’s shuffle option is one of the device’s best loves features.

So much so that Apple, the company who make the iPod, have produced a version of their digital music player that’s quite descriptively called, yes, you guessed it, the Shuffle. Realizing that the feature was one of the iPod’s most popular, they came up with a music player that assumes this mode by default. You can still store all the music you like on the new iPod version, only now you don’t have to choose which song to play - the Shuffle plays your music randomly, so you are always treated to that element of surprise.

Most professional musicians play from a book called a “Fake Book”. I bought my first fake book containing only about 200 songs when I was a teenager — they were illegal then, but most musicians owned them — for $50. That would be equal to $500. or more now. But fortunately, they have since become legal, so you can buy a real good one with 1000 songs now for $50. or less. A fake book contains just the melody (tune) and the chord symbols of a song, so you have to know chords to use one. But when you do, your playing comes alive — you’re only reading a few notes, but playing lots of notes.

Most people learn to play the piano by playing just the written music. Playing by written music is exactly what the phrase says it is — playing the exact notation on a piece of sheet music. But playing by chord symbol is very different. Instead of following the harmony note by note, you follow the chord symbols (i.e. C7 or F) written above the harmonies, filling in the gaps with…well, whatever you want as long as it sticks to those chords. Of course, you’ll still read the melody (it is, after all, often what makes the song recognizable) but even that is completely open to interpretation. Playing by chord symbol allows you a freedom that playing by written music simply doesn’t. The freedom to create. The freedom to invent. The freedom to arrange chord patterns in the way you want.

Does that mean playing by written music is less important than playing by chord symbol? No. The ability to play by written music is an extremely valuable skill, one that even some of the most famous musicians don’t possess. And while you don’t necessarily need to know the skill backwards and forwards to create great arrangements, it’s a great help.

Chord symbols — sometimes referred to as “chord tabs” (for example, Cmaj7 or G6 or Fm7) are a type of notation used frequently in jazz and other areas of modern music to notate chord progressions and changes. This type of notation differs from that of classical music in that chord symbols don’t show the function of a chord the way the Roman numeral notation does. Chord symbols, for modern music with lots of changes, are much easier to read. They function as a sort of shorthand for change-heavy music and are written with four chord parts in mind: the root, the quality, the extension, and the alterations

The first part in chord symbols, the root, tells the musician which note is the root of the chord. In an E6 chord, for instance, the E serves as the root. In a C7 chord, C is the root. Easy enough.

Quality, the second part in chord symbols, denotes whether the chord is major, minor, diminished, or augmented. In a Cmaj7, the maj tells us that the C chord is major. The abbreviations for this area in chord symbols are maj, min, dim, and aug respectively. So Cm means the chord is a C minor chord. Caug means that the chord is a C augmented chord.

The extension in chord symbols, written after the quality, shows the musician if the chord differs from a triad, such as an 11th or 6th or 9th or 7th or 13th. So a C9 would mean that the C chord includes the 9th note above C, which is D. A C6 chord would mean that the C chord includes the 6th scale note above C, which is A. This part of chord symbols is not always shown; if there is no indication of an extension, the musician is to assume that the chord is a triad.

The last part in chord symbols, the alteration, is usually but not always expressed. Think of this part as the “notes” section in chord symbols; it gives the musician any specific (and sometimes irregular) instructions for playing the chord and is always written in parentheses after the extension (or the quality, if no extension exists). For instance, (no fifth) would tell the musician that the chord is to be played with the fifth tone left out. Sus - short for “suspension”, would mean to play the 4th scale note instead of the 3rd. A minus sign would mean to lower (flat) a chord tone, such as C-9 which would mean to flat the 9th of the chord. Conversely, a plus sign would mean to raise (sharp) a particular chord tone.

Reading music using chord symbols allows a person to use written music as a map, rather than a note-for-note approach — being tied to the written sheet music. By just reading the melody note and the chord symbols, musicians can improvise to their hearts content and create their own sounds on the keyboard. So you can use sheet music as a map instead of a ball & chain that ties you down.

Did you know that many pianists wouldn’t have a clue what to do if a gust of wind blew their sheet music off the music rack? I’ve actually seen it happen, and it is very embarrassing to the pianist. And it’s so un-necessary! And there’s a true story about a famous concert pianist who could play most any piece of written music, but when asked to play “Happy Birthday” at a party, she couldn’t do it because she didn’t have any written music! Almost unbelievable, but true.

Once you learn this skill you’ll be reading only a few notes per measure, but playing handfuls of notes — arpeggios, chords, runs, riffs, fills, etc. You can then “do your own thing” on the piano, instead of playing a song the same way everyone else is playing it.
