Are Shuffling Machines Truly Random?

Every casino that you see will advertise that they use shuffling machines to make sure that you get a fair deal. This is one instance where the rhetoric needs to be matched up to the real life experience. Have you ever played in a online poker casino when a new deck comes to the online poker table? The dealer will inevitably inserts the new cards into the shuffling machine and give them the recommended amount of turns. By all accounts the cards are now technically randomized. However, if you have ever seen this situation take place you will know that it is not unusual to see some of the poker cards come out in the exact same order that they were put into the machine. They come out in perfect chronological order sometimes because shuffling machines are not always 100%. They are slightly flawed machines. Normally the error is not enough to notice or really affect your game, but it is useful to realize that it exists. What players like you and I have learned through this situation is that you should not believe everything that the casino says. Use your observational skills to evaluate the truth of the casino’s words. Don’t take it at face value that they are going to give you the best deal.
