Alkalize Or Die - Here’s Why

It seems people are becoming increasingly aware of the body’s need to be in a slightly alkaline state. “Alkalize or Die” has become a buzzword in health circles.

Here’s Why:

Leading research is starting to show that nearly every common disease is associated with having a body that is too acidic. And it’s no doubt most of us are unhealthy, because the typical diet is made up of a collection of acidic foods and beverages. That’s the main message in a book called
Alkalize or Die.

Fortunately, it’s easy to find PH test strips these days, and test your own saliva. Simply place a PH test strip on your tongue first thing in the morning, before you have consumed anything. Almost everyone over the age of 25 will have a PH of less than 7. Healthy people will have a PH level of about 7.2 to 7.4

Do you know what your PH level is?

Many people who hear the phrase “alkalize or die” know about Ted Baroody. He wrote the exceptional book the alkaline diet, and is really helping to bring light to a little known health secret. If you look on Amazon, you’ll find Alkalize or Die among the most popular health books being sold today.

But before alkalize or die, there was another source that popularized the need for the body to be in a slightly alkaline state. His name was Edgar Cayce, also known as “America’s Sleeping Prophet”. Cayce would often go into a sleeping trance, and answer questions about diseases and other conditions. From these sessions, information was produced about the need for the body to be in an alkaline state, and the ideal diet that a person should follow. This information is available from the Association for Research and Enlightenment in Virginia Beach, Virgina.

Not surprisingly, Cayce’s recommended diet is filled with raw fruits and vegetables. And one of the best foods to stay alkaline is celery! Yes, that simple green vegetable is one of the richest sources of alkalinity, and the body thrives on it. Do you wish to alkalize or die? If alkalize is your choice, then be sure to have 30% or more of your diet composed of raw fruits and vegetables.

In the recent high tech world we live in, you can also find alkalizing products you can use. One of the most successful of these is X2O Xtreme, produced by Xooma International of Hampton, Virginia. This little product is like a teabag that is put in pure water. It converts water to an alkaline level of 9.9, and also puts dozens of minerals in a highly digestible form.

There are many other ways to keep your body in the alkaline state, such as drinking lots of water each day, but what you need to succeed is discipline.

Discipline is needed to reduce consumption of soft drinks, coffee, and highly acidic food. That’s what most of us eat exclusively each day! If the contents of Alkalize or Die motivate you to change your habits, then your ability to maintain discipline is one of the keys to gaining the health benefits.

Hopefully, Alkalize or die and other sources discussing the benefits of an alkaline diet will bring heightened awareness to the need to change our diet, and provide the motivation for us to be successful in making the necessary changes.

The rewards are profound, and worth the effort. Who wouldn’t like to be near disease free and living healthier lives?

Do you want to take the first step? Be sure to pick up a copy of Dr. Baroody’s Alkalize or Die book, and educate yourself on just how good you could be feeling a few short weeks from now.

The Power of ‘Aloe Vera’ both Inside and Outside

We have all heard of Aloe Vera and seen the name appear on many products from shampoo to toilet paper! But how many of us appreciate its extraordinary health and beauty properties; properties highly regarded from the time of the ancient Egyptians and Cleopatra. She coveted the use of this miraculous plant using it to maintain her health and renowned beauty.

So what is Aloe Vera? It is a plant, related to the lily family, which grows native in hot, dry parts of the world. It has slender spiky leaves, which are actually soft to the touch; inside the leaves is the important health beneficial gel. In many countries this plant is known as the ‘burn plant’ as it is often used as a relief for burns, including sunburn. Taking a leaf from the plant, stripping it open to reveal the gel and applying it to the wounded skin will render instant relief, sooth the pain and aid the natural healing process. Many people have seen the benefits overnight.

Beyond the wonderful properties for the treatment of the skin, Aloe Vera has many other health and beauty properties and has no known side effects. Drinking the gel can aid digestive problems and be beneficial in the treatment of bowel problems such as Colitis, Cystitis, IBS and many others.

A recent clinical trial into the benefits of Aloe Vera on ulcerative colitis came to the conclusion that “Aloe Vera taken for 4 weeks produces a clinical response more often than a placebo…” A larger trial is planned.

Aloe Vera has power - both inside and outside of you!

Killer Fat Cells

The middle-aged spread. The beer gut. The spare tire. The pot belly. Love handles.

In the end, let’s just call it what it is: FAT. It doesn’t deserve a cute name.

As we age, we tend to put on weight, especially around our mid sections. This is linked to various factors, including an age related loss of muscle mass, which can be reversed with training, and an increase in the tendency to form fat, which cannot.

All of us have a genetic tendency towards fatness or thinness. Fat or thin, we also have a natural tendency to deposit fat in one area of the body or another. Some of us put on fat around our waists: the “apple” shape. Others of us put on fat on our backsides and thighs: the “pear” shape. Men tend to be apples, women tend to be pears, but there are plenty of male pears and female apples out there.

Even for those of us who are in a healthy weight range, the concentration of fat around our mid section has been shown to increase the risk of Type II diabetes (see below) heart-attack, high blood pressure and strokes. Abdominal fat not only ruins your figure, it ruins your health.

One way to determine if you’ve got too much fat around the middle is to calculate your waist-hip ratio. This is a simple ratio of the measurement of your waist at its narrowest point divided by the measurement of your hips at their widest point.

For women, this ratio should be less than 0.8. For men, less than 0.95.

Over this ratio, there is an increased occurrence of heart disease.

One study showed that men under 40 with no symptoms or outward signs of heart disease who had a high waist-hip ratio had more plaques in their coronary arteries. The same was found in women under 50 in another, similar study.

So pull out your measuring tape, and trade your apple for a pear!

Remember: a pear a day keeps the doctor away!

Type II Diabetes

Type II, or Adult-onset diabetes, is an imbalance between the body’s ability to produce insulin and the body’s need for insulin. When we are overweight, we have more cells that require sugar, and our capacity for producing insulin is usually limited.

Losing weight can help control diabetes to the point where no medications may be necessary. Many Type II diabetics require some oral medication, and some require insulin.

Tips For Successful Weight Loss

Throughout my childhood and teenage years I watched as my mother tried every fad diet under the sun. I recall one time she ate boiled cabbage and nothing else for a whole week. I felt my mothers’ frustration and misery, however I could not understand why it was so difficult for her to lose weight and keep it off - until that is I became a weight management coach.

For the past two years I have been assisting people to achieve their ideal weight and in this time I have experienced what contributes to a successful weight loss story.

Getting serious - It all starts with you and how serious you are about losing weight. The key to successful weight loss is partly dependent on your level of commitment. How would you rate your seriousness on a scale of 1 - 10 (10 being deadly serious)?

No quick fix - If you have made the commitment to get serious about losing weight then you need to make the commitment to do it safely and effectively. One piece of invaluable advice my own family doctor passed onto me is that slow and steady is always the best option. The longer it takes you to lose weight the less likely you are to put it back on.

Staying motivated - Always keep the end in mind! Write down all of the reasons why you are motivated to lose weight now. Record these reasons on a piece of card that can be kept in your wallet or purse. Each morning and before going to bed remind yourself by reading aloud why you are motivated to lose weight.

Facing challenges - Every day you are likely to face challenges, which can disrupt your focus and get in the way of your weight loss goals. Write down all of the challenges that you know have made losing weight hard for you in the past. This will help you to develop a better strategy this time. Three common challenges are lack of results, boredom and lack of support from spouse, family and friends.

Choosing a weight control program - I recommend choosing a diet / weight control program that offers all of the following for best results:

  • Provides a balanced nutritious program that is safe and effective
  • Support system and regular progress follow-up
  • Teaches you better eating habits
  • Teaches you how to maintain your weight once you have reached your goal weight

For two years Annette Croft has been assisting people reach their ideal weight with the aid of a nutritious, simple and convenient weight management program. Diet Preparation Part III: Arranging Your Day for a Better Night’s Sleep

In Part III of this series entitled “Diet Preparation: the Impact of Sleep and Stress,” I want to give you some concrete ideas and tips on how to improve your sleep habits by establishing better daytime patterns that will influence your sleep at night. Again, this greatly impacts the effectiveness of any weight loss program you may start. If the body isn’t getting appropriate rest and a chance to rebuild itself, then achieving your weight loss goals becomes much more difficult if not impossible.

Now that you understand the importance of sleep and that it directly impacts your chances of healthy weight loss, what can you do to make sure you are getting a good night’s sleep? Again, there may be very little you can change about a particular situation that is raising your stress levels.

But you can always control how you react to those situations. The first thing you can do right now is decide that you will get a good night’s sleep and you will not be robbed by night’s spent turning and tossing due to some situation you have to face. Then here’s how you can be proactive in getting a good night’s sleep. Remember, getting a good night’s sleep doubles your chances of losing the weight and keeping it off. Let’s begin with some tips to establishing better daytime habits which will effect your sleep at night.

TIPS FOR BETTER DAYTIME HABITS

* Do not nap during the day. If you are having trouble sleeping at night, try not to nap during the day because you will throw off your body clock and make it even more difficult to sleep at night. If you are feeling especially tired, and feel as if you absolutely must nap, be sure to sleep for less than 30 minutes, early in the day.

* Limit caffeine and alcohol. Avoid drinking caffeinated or alcoholic beverages for several hours before bedtime. Although alcohol may initially act as a sedative, it can interrupt normal sleep patterns.

* Don’t smoke. Nicotine is a stimulant and can make it difficult to fall asleep and stay asleep.

* Avoid over-the-counter and prescription drugs as much as possible, especially closer to bedtime. Many over-the-counter and prescription drugs disrupt sleep.

* Expose yourself to bright light/sunlight soon after awakening. This will help to regulate your body’s natural biological clock. Likewise, try to keep your bedroom dark while you are sleeping so that the light will not interfere with your rest.

* Exercise early in the day. Twenty to thirty minutes of exercise every day can help you sleep, but be sure to exercise in the morning or afternoon. Exercise stimulates the body and aerobic activity before bedtime may make falling asleep more difficult.

* Check your iron level. Iron deficient women tend to have more problems sleeping. So if your blood is iron poor, a supplement might help your health and your ability to sleep.

As always, consult your physician before making any significant changes that could effect your health. Look for Part IV in this series in which I will give you some great tips on how to have a better sleep environment.

Getting into The Zone with The Alexander Technique

Have you ever attempted to perform a simple act and completely failed? From completely mistiming a shot to losing balance at a crucial moment, the outcome may have fallen short of our intention and expectation. In contrast there are times when everything goes just right, every act is carried out to perfection with little perceived effort. Why should this be the case? If we are capable of achieving feats of brilliance one moment, why do we fail so comprehensively the next? What condition is present one moment and gone the next? Athletes refer to the later as ‘The Zone ‘ and spend their lives trying to reach this subliminal level.

The elusiveness of the zone gives us a clue into its nature. Athletes experiencing these moments cannot explain how they came to be there, and report that the state is lost as soon as they become aware of being in it. From their observations it appears that ‘being in the zone’ involves integration of the conscious and unconscious aspects of movement, that is the voluntary decision to act and the reflex that facilitates the action. Becoming conscious of the moment seems to destroy it. A comparable situation is the act of falling asleep, as soon as we become aware we are about to fall asleep we interrupt the process. We cannot do anything to directly make ourselves fall asleep. All we can do is to stop doing what may be preventing the process. At an early age I learnt you do not fall asleep any quicker on Christmas Eve by closing you eyes tighter.

The zone is described in a paper titled: The Achievement Zone as: -

… a special place where performance is exceptional and consistent, automatic and flowing. An athlete is able to ignore all the pressures and let his or her body deliver the performance that has been learned so well. Competition is fun and exciting. (Murphy, 1996)

Sport Psychologist, Kenneth Ravizza, conducted one of the first studies into the zone in 1977 called: ‘A subjective study of the athlete’s greatest moment in sport’. He studied the experiences of twenty top athletes during their moments of glory and found that the experience was: - … temporary and of relatively short duration; non-voluntary and not induced at will; and unique. He found that it required many years of practice before they could enter the zone. He defines the common characteristics of the experience as: -

… focusing on the present moment, effortless merging of action and awareness, loss of personal ego, sense of control, clear feedback, and an intrinsic reward system.”

A study conducted at Monash University in Melbourne, Australia, questioned athletes from a number of sports about their experience in the zone. In a paper titled: ‘The Zone : Evidence of A Universal Phenomenon for Athletes Across Sports’, by Young and Pain (1999), the conclusion drawn was that regardless of the sport, athletes appear to experience the same ‘heightened state of consciousness’. The participants used words such as “peak”, “perfect moments”, “mindfulness” and “flow” to describe their time in the zone.

The words “let”, “flow” and “mindfulness” are not generally associated with effort and pushing to the limit. Could being in ‘the zone’ involve a state of non-interference with movement? A balanced state that promotes optimum integration of the postural reflexes, consciousness and appropriate use of learnt patterns. This could explain why it requires years of practice before the zone is experienced.

Unfortunately because we are unaware of how we interfere with the natural mechanisms, time spent in the zone is rare and brief. If we learn to first identify what it is we do to interfere, and then how to prevent it, we may increase our chances of making the zone.

One of the best methods to experience ‘being in the moment’ is The Alexander Technique, a much undervalued thought and movement system. Using these technique sports people regardless of ability can learn to develop awareness skills that can help identify performance-limiting habits. It is only once we have become conscious of these habits can we then start to change them. Athletes who have trained using The Alexander Technique include Matthew Pincent and his gold medal UK rowing crew at the Athens Olympice 2004.

The Real Challenge Of Weight Loss

Weight loss is never easy. Although this is stating the
obvious, it is nevertheless very true. People who need to lose
weight are not in their overweight condition out of choice. Many
people falsely believe that if individuals were to stop eating
so much they would lose weight. It is time for not only those
who need to lose weight to wake up, but for those that do not
understand the weight loss troubles of individuals to wake up as
well. Here, we will touch on why people are overweight. And, we
will talk about getting to the root of the problem, the
challenge of weight loss.

First of all, those who are overweight must find a way of
finding out their true trauma or reason that they over eat or
are over weight. This is not to be harsh, but the fact is there
is a reason why you are the way you are. Finding this reason is
sure to open doors to the way out. It is far from easy to do
this, though. You will need to put yourself in a vulnerable
position to see what is happening within you. For those who are
in denial, there is no way out unless you take the time to
explore within yourself the reasons why you are where you are
today. Simply, be honest with yourself.

The next, difficult task that you need to go through is being
willing to lose weight. That seems silly almost because doesn’t
everyone who needs to lose weight want to? The truth is that you
have to be ready to work for it. You have to want it enough to
do whatever it takes to get to that point. Absolutely no one
said it would be easy. But, the challenge will be well worth if.
So, if you truly want to lose weight and you are ready to give
up the reasons you are in the condition you are in, then, you
can move forward.

Now, we can get to the real meat of the issue of weight loss.
Remember how we said that many individuals who are overweight
eat or do not take care of themselves for a reason? Well, that
is what we will now focus on. For those who are not overweight,
it will be hard to understand the relationship people often have
with food. You may not really understand how this can happen,
but instead of questioning it, accepting it would undoubtedly
help the individuals in your life who are overweight pull out of
it. Acceptance of the problem will allow you to help them.

Why do you eat? Many people who are overweight eat not because
they are hungry, but out of things like fear, anger, and
frustration. Stress is often a cause as well. There are hundreds
of other reasons as well. The point is that people, who eat not
because they are hungry, but because they have emotional
problems, need help in order to get out of this situation.
Realizing what this reason is the most important first step.
Asking questions like the following will help you determine why
you eat.

* Do you eat before work or school?

* Do you eat after an argument with a friend or relative?

* Do you find yourself bingeing when you are afraid?

* Do you worry about things you can not control?

* Are you depressed with any area of your life?

* Do social situations bother you?

We can and will talk about different questions that you may
relate to in a bit. But, for those who answered yes to any of
these, it is possible that you have an emotional eating
disorder. This can be a quite common thing for people who are
constantly worrying or under pressure and stress in any part of
their life. In order to correct this eating problem, there are
several things you will need to do.

First of all, you will need to know why you are doing this. Dig
deep and really pull out what it is. A fear of failure, a
stressful life experience, or just plain old stress can trigger
this type of disorder. It is up to you to find out just how this
is happening. Once you know what it is, you can begin solving
the problem in order to stop the eating and take back your
health. If you do not get to the root of the problem, but try to
diet and exercise, you will continuously find yourself falling
back to your old ways. You have to take this step first.

Once you have determined just what the problem is, then you can
work for the solution. Honestly, you may have to talk to a
psychiatrist or at least a doctor. In any case, the method is
the same. Drawing out the reason and then solving it is
necessary. When you are at this point, you will have to find a
solution to your problem. For example, if you are under too much
stress, you have to find a way out of some of it. If you are a
worrier, you will need to find a way to slow it down, possibly
with medication. If you are depressed, have anxiety, or have
other issues like this, you will need to talk to your doctor
about this as well. Weight loss can not happen until these
situations are resolved.

Weight loss that is built on emotional issues like these need to
be taken care of. Not only is it unhealthy to live in an
overweight condition, but it can be very taxing on your life to
live under the pressure that is causing you to be like this. It
could be as simply as relieving pressures or reducing stress.
Weight loss programs that are used after this point will be more
effective. Weight loss can happen when you are not fighting
against yourself any longer. So, start with step one and find
out what it is that is challenging your weight loss.

An overview of 4d baby scans

The method know as three dimensional ultrasound scanning is used in early pregnancy, it can provide 3d pictures of the fetus. Most times these ultrasound samples are collected and joined together to make a 4d ultrasound scan.

Three dimensional scanning works in the same manner to the normal ultrasound methods except that the ultrasound scanning pulses are sent from multiple directions. The waves are reflected back then captured to provide info to construct a 3d image in much the same way as 3d pictures. 3d ultrasound was started by stephen smith and olaf von ramm at duke university.

It’s important to understand that sonologists around the world always conjured 3d pictures of anatomy or pathology in their minds while doing 2d scans. However, until recently it was impossible to do this type of reconstruction on on data using ultasound scanning. With the introduction of 4d scans for the first time allowed us a peek into the thinking of a sonologist and hence letting us view the images on the ultrasound machine.

4d ultrasound imaging should utilize ultrasound energy following the same limits as conventional 2d ultrasound to create the 3d images. There is no data to suggest harm due to 3d ultasound scanning, its use in none essential situations needs to be undertaken with the understanding of the risks.

There is a Cure For All Diseases and They Really Don’t Want You to Know About It

What they do is suppress information and block those who have alternative methods of healing from making those methods public knowledge. So many of the terminal, “non curable” diseases are being cured as a matter of course in other countries. Those that are being cured in this country are doing it by their own research and help from books and web sites such as www.drclarkuniversity.org and books such as The Cure For All Diseases by Dr. Hulda Clark. Or Natural Cures They Don’t Want You To Know About by Kevin Trudeaux, who also reference Dr. Clark’s books, such as the one above and her book The Cure For All Cancers.

The powers that be in this country have tried to put Dr. Clark out of business, and they did she has to practice in Mexico, and they tried to shut her down there too, but fortunately for the those who do know about her and her research, they were unsuccessful.

Kevin Trudeaux, author of Natural Cures They Don’t Want You To Know About called for a federal and state investigation of the New York Consumer Protection Board as a result of the recent arrest of its Executive Deputy Director for felony possession of crack cocaine coupled with the erratic conduct of the agency under her control.

Mr. Trudeau said his attorneys will be contacting the New York Attorney General to ask for a full investigation of the agency’s conduct under the apparent control of Caroline Quartararo, who was arrested on an Albany, NY, street two weeks ago for possession of crack cocaine.

In September 2005, a federal judge determined the CPB had violated Mr. Trudeau’s First Amendment rights by attempting to coerce television stations into refusing to air advertisements for his best selling book, “Natural Cures They Don’t Want You to Know About.”

This is what they do. They put up web sites that offer false information in an attempt to challenge the credibility of anyone who offers any kind of solution that is not officially backed by the pharmaceuticals, AMA, FTC or FDA. If they can’t make a profit you don’t get the information. And the fact that the information may save your life is not the bottom line that our government and its regulating bodies look at. Or, they do what they’re doing to Kevin Trudeau, trying to block the information getting to the public by attempting to coerce television stations from airing the advertisement.

Dr. Hulda Clark and Kevin Trudeaux, and others including Sang Whang, who is an engineer, scientist, and inventor all have established the cause of many of these diseases and have had remarkable results in curing them.

According to Dr.Clark:

The Cause for many years we have all believed that cancer is different from other diseases. We believed that cancer behaves like a fire, in that you can’t stop it once it has started. Therefore, you have to cut it out or radiate it to death or chemically destroy every cancerous cell in the body since it can never become normal again. NOTHING COULD BE MORE WRONG! And we have believed that cancers of different types such as leukemia or breast cancer have different causes. Wrong again!
In this book, “The Cure For All Cancers” you will see that all cancers are alike. They are all caused by a parasite. A single parasite! It is the human intestinal fluke. And if you kill this parasite, the cancer stops immediately. The tissue becomes normal again. In order to get cancer, you must have this parasite.

How can the human intestinal fluke cause cancer? This parasite typically lives in the intestine where it might do little harm, causing only colitis, Crohn’s disease, or irritable bowel syndrome, or perhaps nothing at all. But if it invades a different organ, like the uterus or the kidneys or liver, it does a great deal of harm. If it establishes itself in the liver, it causes cancer! It only establishes itself in the liver in some people. These people have isopropyl alcohol in their bodies.

All cancer patients have both isopropyl alcohol and the intestinal fluke in their livers. The solvent, isopropyl alcohol, is responsible for letting the fluke establish itself in the liver. In order to get cancer, you must have both the parasite and isopropyl alcohol in your body.

As Dr. Clark espouses and Kevin Trudeaux, so does Sang Whang. Disease and aging are due to a build up of toxins and the inability to remove the acidic waste products. Dr. Clark and Kevin Trudeaux both approach the problem of disease by eliminating the toxins. Making sure there is no isopropyl alcohol in the system, for example.

Sang Whang who has been working on reverse aging says: … At the turn of the century, man began to fly. Today, we have already landed on the moon. Isn’t it reasonable to expect Science today should discover the technology to reverse aging? Well, Science Has!

When Americans think of “health”, we think of diets and exercise. Diet and exercise help our body to dispose of acidic waste products. However, as we know, diet and exercise are sometimes difficult to stay with and not as effective as time-honored methods practiced through the centuries in Asia. Until now, Americans do it the hard way while Asians do it the simple and easy way. Science has made it simpler and easier to remove acidic waste products that have accumulated within our body.
Sang Whang has created a product called Alkalife. AlkaLife is a patented alkaline concentrate. Mixing 2 drops of AlkaLife solution in an 8-oz. glass of water changes the ordinary drinking water to high pH alkaline drinking water. With AlkaLife, we can get alkaline water without any expensive alkaline water maker. A 1.2 oz. bottle can be carried conveniently in a pocket or purse. In order to get the health benefits, one should drink 5 glasses of high pH alkaline water a day distributed as evenly as possible. By carrying an AlkaLife® bottle around, one can drink alkaline water anytime and anywhere.

Product benefits

The foods that we eat give us energy by oxidizing, afterwards they become acidic wastes. Since our body cannot get rid of all the wastes it produces, they get accumulated somewhere in our body. This accumulation of non-disposed acidic wastes is what causes aging. Some examples of solidified acidic wastes are cholesterol, fatty acid, uric acid kidney stone, urates, sulfates, and phosphates. The best way to neutralize and get these wastes out of our body is to drink alkaline water.
Sang Whang’s book reverse aging and his Alkaline and bicarbolife product can also be found at www.drclarkuniversity.org click on books and products then on the university book store and then on Alkalife-Reverse Aging.
